Root Canal

canal

Root canals are necessary when the pulp layer of your tooth becomes infected. When your tooth nerve goes bad, it becomes sensitive to chewing, heat and cold. Infection can lead to the loss of your tooth, so it is necessary to remove the infection with root canal therapy. The procedure is generally comfortable and saves your natural tooth, prevents the spread of infection, and returns your smile to complete health. We offer local anesthetic or even sleep sedation for completely painless root canals. Once numb, your infected tooth is cleaned out and medication is applied to reduce infection and swelling. A sealer is then used to seal, fill and protect your tooth root. A crown (cap) is placed after a root canal to prevent your tooth from breaking or cracking.

"Dr. Shlafer became my dentist 2 years ago when my fiance at the time recommended I use his dentist. From the initial consultation, I knew Dr Shlafer would be my long term dentist. Dr Shalfer and his team were very thorough which showed that they truly cared about my dental health. I highly recommend Dr. Shlafer."

"The staff here is stellar. I've been going here for years now and have never had a bad experience. The women at the desk greet everyone by name, and the doctor remembers everything you tell him about yourself. Everyone here knows what they're doing, a trip here is never a hassle, and they'll always keep your best interest in mind."
